It is with a heavy heart that we here at Boost Oregon have to stop the production of our incredible podcasts. We have a responsibility to the public to combat vaccine-preventable diseases and ensure that we can still provide our services to the public and medical community.
We are pressing pause on these shows for the time being. If you have the time and resources, please get involved with the amazing organizations we've featured on the show. If you want to see these shows return, please donate to Boost Oregon at boostoregon.org/donate
From all of us here at Boost Oregon to you, thank you for joining us on this journey.
All kiddos will make mistakes as they grow-up it is a consistent and inescapable part of childhood. As parents it is out job to help correct those behaviors and teach them behaviors that are acceptable and those that are not.

Sometimes it is easier to tell a small lie to your kids, than the truth. Like the Park is closed instead of the honest truth that you are too tired to go. Lying to our kids happens, we even do it when we feel like we need to protect them. We even do it when we are not feeling well by telling them not to worry or that we are fine.
In these moments it is important to remember that this form of communication is called Gaslighting. This form of communication teaches our children to doubt themselves, and this is why Radical Honesty is so important. Tune into this episode to get a deeper look into why we owe our children honesty.
We return to talk more about motivational interviewing with Boost Oregon's own amazing Carrie Bader. Our Kids are going to scrape there knees, and get bumps and cut, that is just a part of growing up. Pain and discomfort are helpful teachers and help childern learn what they are capable of and how to navigate through the world. Now this doesn't mean that I don't take injury prevention seriously, it is important to talk with your dediatrician during your well visits about what are the steps need to ensure a safe home.
Have you ever wondered who the organization is behind Boosting Our Voices and Neighborhood Doctor? There are so many questions when you become a parent, you are sure to find some answers to your top concerns during this episode.
ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is something that I don’t believe is a disorder. I think we created a label for people whose needs aren’t adequately met by our existing educational and labor structures. No one has a deficit of attention or hyperactivity.
We break down here steps for managing ADHD, where our structures aren’t serving us and how people learn differently. ADHD is not something that needs to be cured, treated or corrected, rather it is what makes someone stronger, unique and valuable.
During the first part of the conversation, Ari shares her questions as a soon-to-be parent, and Ryan answers them as our resident pediatrician. So, if you are expecting or are a new parent yourself, join us as we work through the many questions we have right before parenthood begins.
